Confirmation in the United Methodist tradition is a rite through which young Christians affirm the faith of the church, make or renew the vows of baptism, and commit to lives of discipleship as professing members of the United Methodist Church.   CLASSES WILL MEET ON SUNDAYS FROM APRIL 15 - JUNE 3.  We will meet in rooms 127/129 from 10:30am - 12:00 Noon.  The Confirmation Service will take place on June 10.  Please contact Pastor Kathy with questions. 

The food pantry is a very important ministry at Chapel Hill.  It allows us to assist people in need in our own neighborhood.  Donations are welcome at any time, but we now designate the 3rd Sunday in each month as "Food Pantry Sunday."  There will be a food basket in the narthex for donated items.  For a list of items needed, click below to go to our "More News" page:  http://www.chapelhillumc.com/message.php?messageID=26169

2012 RELAY FOR LIFE will take place May 19 & 20 this year. The theme is "RELAYWOOD."  If any teenagers or adults are interested in being our Team Captain or Co-Captain, or would like to volunteer to help in the planning and working at the Relay, please contact JoAnn McCollum. YOGA CLASSES: APRIL 12, 22, 29; MAY 6, 13, 20; JUNE 3, 10, 17, 24.

Grace Walker will again lead us in the practice of yoga, a powerful tool in reducing stress and improving overall health.  Classes will be held in the narthex, on Sunday afternoons, from 4:00pm-4:45pm. Please use the narthex door entrance.  You'll need a yoga mat, water, and your positive energy!  For April, please bring a dondation for our undies/socks drive, or for our food pantry.  Everyone welcome!

Perhaps you are looking for some Bible coloring pages for your child, to use with your devotions; or, perhaps you're just looking for a more meaningful coloring activity for your child than a commercial coloring book.  We hope this link will be useful to you.  It's a site that offers FREE printable coloring pages of many familiar Bible stories, with no special computer add-ons needed.  Also FREE and available on this site are a variety of brief Bible passages that are printed out and illustrated, and read aloud by a child to your child, followed by a question about the passage and a brief story and picture that illustrates the principle of the passage.  Just click under the "Children's Stories" heading, and you'll see the items that are availavble. Two more clicks, and the text reading begins.

HELP!  We need your old paper!  We need to maintain an average of one and one half tons of paper, per month, in the recycle bin.  If we cannot do this, the bin will be removed.  We can use newspapers, magazines of all types, catalogs, brochures, paperback books, and any "fan" mail that you are going to toss.  We cannot take telephone books, cardboard, cereal boxes or soft drink cartons.  Please put a sack of recycle material in the trunk of your car each time you come to church-it will help us keep this service to the church and community!   ALSO, the money from all aluminum cans dropped off in the blue carts which are conveniently located in the parking lot will go toward helping our preschool!  THANK YOU!
