Mission Haiti Medical
Formed in 1998, and formerly called Mission Haiti Midwest, this group organizes and promotes ministry involvement from the Midwest United States to Haiti. Their mission is "to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through a healthcare alliance with the people of Haiti." Dr. Bill Engle, a member of Chapel Hill UMC, is Board Vice President of this organization. Many of our members have and do participate in this mission, both here at church and on trips to Haiti.

The goal of this organization is to raise funds for Friendly Planet Missionology in support of their mission to provide transportation to the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo .They help by applying the money raised toward the purchase of bicycles properly equipped to handle the remote, rugged contions of the country.

It empowers youth by providing street outreach, a youth drop-off center and referral to social services, and educational/job training projects through community relationships. Jeanie Gensheimer, owner of Rapunzel's Gymnastics and Little Dragon's Karate, has been providing gymnastics instruction to our CHUMC Preschool 3 & 4 year olds for 6 years. She brings her mobile gymnastics instruction class to our school, as well as many other schools in the area, and she offers private instruction.
